Abena Perryman started a daily gratitude practice on Facebook a few months ago. In our interview, she shares the heart-wrenching story about why she started this practice and opens up about how difficult the past year has been for her and her family. Furthermore, a few weeks ago during the #BlackLivesMatter protests, she shared a very personal story about how her son faced racism and discrimination while playing hockey as a 10 year old! It was powerful to hear her share the details of this painful situation. It is a reminder of how important it is for white people to LISTEN and support BIPOC.
Abena is a Managing Partner at Andrew Perry, a B2B marketing firm based in the GTA.
